In this video we’re breaking down the five best air purifiers in 2021. I’ve included options for every type of consumer. If you’re looking for an air purifier for smaller spaces or even for your whole home to remove or reduce contaminants like dust smoke, pet, dander, organic compounds, allergens and bacteria which can make a significant difference to your well-being all of the product for you.
The fifth product on our list is the LEVOIT Air Purifier. This is our best budget air purifier for small spaces. Being indoors all the time can get stuffy especially if you have pets or there are smokers in your home. A simple fix could be to get a good air purifier. If you’re on a budget the LEVOIT Air Purifier is available for about 80 and is well worth checking out.
Designed for smaller spaces such as an office bedroom or dorm, the cylindrical LEVOIT Air Purifier can sit on the floor or on a table without getting in the way. I personally love how unobtrusive it looks a little over a foot tall it basically looks like a larger sized amazon echo.
The LEVOIT Air Purifier uses a three-stage filtration system which includes a pre-filter true hepa filter and high efficiency activated carbon filter to clean allergens, pet hair dander, smoke, mold, odor, and large dust particles.
It promises to remove 99.97 percent of airborne contaminants as small as 0.3 microns and it circulates air more than four times an hour for faster air purification. It comes with three speed settings though you might find the highest setting a bit too loud to use while you’re in the same room.
It includes a smart filter change reminder which is a built-in indicator that will alert you when you need to replace the filter. This usually needs to be done every six to eight months. There’s also two brightness settings so you can use it as a night light as well, so you’re not stumbling around in the total dark but you can also turn off the light completely if you prefer.
While the LEVOIT Air Purifier isn’t for everyone its size makes it a great choice if you have a small room and you should find the effectiveness of the hepa filter more than adequate and because of its reasonable price you could always add more of them for multiple rooms that could benefit from an Air Purifier.
The fourth product on our list is the Coway Mighty Air Purifier. This is a great air purifier for the money. Now if you have a medium sized space, you might be interested in the Coway AP 1512 HH Mighty Air Purifier. At around 170 it is more than twice the price of the Levoit Air Purifier, but you get great value for the money since it can purify the air up to 361 square feet.
At 16.81 by 9.57 by 18.31 inches it is considerably larger than the Levoit Purifier and is best placed on the floor. I like that while it’s bigger its design does allow it to blend into the background of a modern home. It uses a four-stage filtration system pre-filter deodorization filter true hepa filter and vital ion to eliminate 99.97 percent of particles 0.3 microns in the air.
This includes pollen pollutants, volatile organic compounds odors and other allergens the air ionizer produces a small amount of ozone when purifying the air. It’s safe but if you’re concerned you can turn that feature off. With an LED screen the Coway Mighty Purifier sensor provides indoor air quality in real time.
The screen also includes a filter lifetime indicator and a timer as the device can be set to run at one-, four- or eight-hour intervals. One caveat is that the screen is always on so if the device is in your bedroom, you may not want it facing you when you sleep.
The Coway has three speeds but there’s also an automatic setting which alternates between them as needed. If the device reads no air pollution for 30 minutes, it will automatically turn off and enter eco mode.
The Coway AP 1512 HH Mighty Air Purifier brings a lot to the table considering its affordable price and feature set including its four-stage filtration system to keep medium-sized spaces fresh and improving the quality of the air for you and your family making it a great air purifier for the money.
The third product on our list is the Honeywell HPA300 true hepa Air Purifier. This is our best true hepa air purifier for allergies. While both the previous air purifiers do a good job at tackling pollen, dander, and other allergens. If your family members suffer from allergies, you may be better off with the Honeywell HPA300 true hepa Air Purifier for around 250.
Like the previous two entries in this list the HPA300 true hepa Air Purifier cleans 99.97 percent of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. This includes dust pet dander pollen and smoke, but it can also reduce up to 99.9 percent of certain airborne viruses, bacteria, and mold spores.
I like that it’s listed as the doctor’s choice. It’s the number one brand of air purifier recommended by allergists, and it’s backed by a five-year warranty. With a grill surrounding the oval device this air purifier resembles a portable space heater, while perhaps less attractive than the previous two devices it gives off a more traditional look.
And it’s designed for even larger rooms than the Coway Mighty Air Purifier. The Honeywell HPA300 true hepa Air Purifier can clean a room of up to 465 square feet as much as five times an hour. It has three air cleaning levels plus a turbo clean mode on its lowest setting the device is quite quiet and even on the highest setting it doesn’t get very loud.
One small complaint involves the filter replacement. Both the pre-filter and hepa filter are disposable and need to be replaced every three months and a year respectively. And they can be a little tricky to install especially the hepa filter which is three filters in one. While the Honeywell HPA300 true hepa Air Purifier is more expensive than the previous two options. I think it’s a great choice if you live with pets or you or any family members struggle with allergies.
The second product on our list is the Blueair Blue Pure 211+. This is our best air purifier for large rooms. If you have large rooms in your home, then you’ll be wanting to pick up the Blueair Blue Pure 211+. It retails for about 300 and can filter the air of rooms up to 540 square feet and it can do it as often as five times an hour.
Personally, i love how elegant the device is with its two-piece tower design. The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ has an attractive yet simple look that will make it an easy fit for any room it can sit next to the couch or bed and take on the appearance of a side table.
The Swedish designed Blueair Blue Pure 211+ captures 99 of airborne pollutants such as pollen, dust dander, viruses, bacteria, and mold. And its activated carbon filter reduces gases, volatile organic compounds, and unpleasant odors from pets, smoking and cooked food.
It has three speed settings and is whisper quiet on the lowest setting however you might find it a bit loud on the high setting. The Blueair Blue Pure 211+ doesn’t come with a hepa filter but instead comes with its own machine washable pre-filters which are available in different colors including diva blue, and dark shadow which is a nice plus.
While this air purifier is more expensive to start with than the previous three in this list, you’ll save money in the long run. It is also rated at a low energy consumption of 30 to 61 watts. This means you won’t take a major hit on your hydro bill. In the end the blue air blue pier 211 plus won’t be for everybody.
If you live in a small apartment or condo one of the previous products on this list might be a better choice. But if you have large rooms in your home, I think the Blueair Blue Pure 211+ is going to be the best air purifier for those larger spaces.
The first product on our list is the Coway Airmega 400 Smart Air Purifier. This is our best air purifier for the whole house. Now if you want a single purifier that can filter the air of your entire house, you’ll want the Coway Airmega 400 Smart Air Purifier. It costs around 500 so it is a bit of an investment but when you consider the health benefits of having better air quality in your home, I think it’s definitely worth it.
It can purify the air of a room as large as 1 560 square feet and can do it twice an hour. I really like the design and although a bit bulky it’s still quite modern and stylish especially with the four little feet which makes it kind of cute.
Like the other air purifiers on this list the air mega 400 captures 99.97 percent of 0.3-micron particles in the air including pollen, pollutants, and other allergens. It also reduces volatile organic compounds by over 99 as well as fumes such as ammonia and acetaldehyde.
It combines both a machine washable pre-filter and a disposable max2 filter which uses an activated carbon and a true hepa filter into one. Like the other Coway Air Purifier listed here the air mega 400 will indicate when these filters need to be washed or replaced.
It also has a pollution sensor led ring that shows the indoor air quality in real time. There are five fan speeds adding a smart and sleep mode to the standard low medium and high settings. The smart mode adjusts the fan speed based on the room’s air quality and lighting.
The fan noise is low and even its high setting is quieter than the high setting of many other air purifiers. A more expensive 400s model with wi-fi is also available which lets you control it with an app or Alexa. The Coway Airmega 400 is the most premium air purifier on this list. You may not need this much power but if you’re looking for an air purifier that can handle your entire home then the air mega 400 is worth the investment.
