The output is more than acceptable at up to 2400 by 600 dpi resolution for documents, reports, memos, and invoices provided you don’t use a lot of small fonts. The quality of graphic printouts isn’t too bad either, everything still comes out recognizable including photos and web page graphics.
You’ll get about 27 pages per minute for text documents which should be more than sufficient for personal or small business use. Brother recommends the HL L2300D is best suited for monthly volumes between 250 to 2000 pages.
There’s also a toner saver mode that will enable you to get more value from your toner cartridges. Even at the budget price the Brother laser printer offers a built-in duplexer for two-sided printing which is a great feature usually found on more expensive printers.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t have wi-fi built in so you’re limited in placement depending on your USB cable. And although I can appreciate Brother trying to keep the price of the hl l2300d low it’s a shame they don’t include the USB cable in the box.

Similar to the earlier HL L2300D the Brother MFCL2750DW is another great monochrome laser printer but offers more functionality as an all-in-one with scanning copying and faxing to its repertoire plus it has built-in Wi-Fi for about 250 dollars.
The MFCL2750DW is ideal for home offices and small businesses that require heavier printing loads and is very cost effective. Printing and scanning double-sided documents are quick especially with the 50-sheet automatic document feeder. Plus, you can also copy, scan and fax multiple pages.
The MFCL2750DW also improves on the previous Brother printer in printing speed for plain text documents at 36 pages per minute although the print resolution is the same at 2400 by 600 DPI. And the flatbed scanner scans at 1200 dpi which should be fine for most documents.
The control console is straightforward, and navigating is easy with the 2.6-inch touchscreen display, but it can be difficult to read when seated due to the fixed angle.
The MFCL2750DW comes with versatile connectivity options including ethernet, wi-fi, and wi-fi direct. And NFC in addition to USB, so you’re not as restricted when it comes to the location of the printer. Also, I really like the convenience of having mobile connectivity, so you can use apple air print, google cloud print, and Brothers eye print, and scan which are great to have if multiple people in your home or office are sharing the printer.

It’s ideal for home offices and small businesses and although it is a color printer it’s more suited for those that print mostly black and white documents with occasional color graphics to be cost effective for the toner. But it’s not to say it can’t handle full color office documents.
Monochrome prints come out great with text that are sharp and crisp even at very small font sizes at 600×600 DPI. Color graphics come out nice and vibrant but depending on some color photos the colors can come out a little oversaturated. Overall, you’ll get about 14 pages per minute for monochrome printouts and about nine pages per minute for color printouts.
Setup is extremely easy especially with the 2.7-inch color touchscreen that’s very responsive and smooth scrolling. And what’s great is that you can angle the display to what works for you. Unlike the Brother MFCL2750DW where you have to be at a specific angle to read it.
It comes with a 250-sheet paper tray, and I really like that the output tray can hold up to 100 sheets without needing to be cleared, which is a big bonus so you don’t have pages scattered on the floor when you print multiple page documents.
The M255DW lets you connect over wi-fi, ethernet, or USB, plus you also get a USB A port, so you can print directly from a thumb drive which can be a big-time saver. The HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw delivers fast and quality prints at an affordable price. I think it’s definitely one of the best color laser printers for home offices or even small businesses for the money.

The Canon Color Image Class MF644Cdw is another great color laser printer but offers all-in-one functionality and can handle high-volume workloads. The printing speed is about the same as the hp at about 14 pages per minute for monochrome printouts and about nine pages per minute for color printouts. The large five-inch color display is good. It’s quick and responsive with icons and info that’s easy to read. However, the viewing angle could be better and it can pick up glare in bright rooms or offices.
The scanner has a 50-page automatic document feeder and can capture both sides of two-sided pages simultaneously which is incredibly convenient for large office documents. You get plenty of connectivity options including mobile options so you can use apple, airprint, mopria for android, google cloud print and canon print business. Plus, it also supports secure print so you can even set up departmental or individual passwords.
The Canon Color Imageclass MF644Cdw is an attractive option for those with home offices or smaller businesses. Looking for a cost-effective all-in-one color laser printer that performs well and has plenty of added features to manage your business’s printing, scanning, copying, and faxing needs.
The first product on our list is the Brother MFC-L8900CDW. This is our best color laser printer for small businesses. The MFC-L8900CDW is Brother’s flagship model in their colored laser printer line and it’s a workhorse. It’s fast, efficient and can handle heavy workloads for about 530 dollars.
It’s significantly bigger than the canon mf644cdw but for document heavy business applications this all-in-one can play an essential role in small to medium-sized offices or work groups. I think what makes the brother even more enticing is that it’s expandable so depending on your printing needs you can expand the 300-sheet capacity up to 1300 sheets.
It features single pass auto duplexing for scanning like the previous Canon MF644Cdw but with a larger 70-page automatic document feeder. Connectivity is more versatile than the canon in addition to the various mobile connectivity options you also get support for Brother’s own iprint and scan, office print easy scan to email, office docs creator and creative center. Plus, the MFC L8900CDW also has NFC connectivity so you can set up secure print jobs and access to machine functions with compatible NFC cards or badges.
You’ll also be able to monitor and configure the MFC L8900CDW via built-in secure web server that you can access remotely. The 5-inch color touchscreen offers easy navigation and I think is a little more intuitive than canon’s UI. You can also create up to 64 customized shortcuts with different layouts for user-defined features and tasks.
You’ll get about 33 pages per minute for both monochrome and color pages. Monochrome prints are excellent even with smaller font sizes including serif fonts which is quite impressive. However, the color print quality at 2400 by 600 DPI could be a little better but more than acceptable for business applications.
