In this video we’re breaking down the five best first-person shooter mice in 2021. I’ve included options for every type of consumer. If you’re looking for a budget first person shooter with all the core features or a premium wireless mouse with ultra-responsive low latency and resolution accuracy, I’ll have the product for you.
The fifth product on our list is the OnTarget Gaming GM21. This is our best budget first person shooter mouse. The OnTarget Gaming GM21 is an affordable high performance gaming mouse that doesn’t sacrifice a whole lot when it comes to gameplay for around thirty dollars. It still offers all the must-have gaming features and performance including eight programmable buttons, customizable dpi settings, RGB lighting and more to make it your go-to gaming mouse.
The GM 21’s optical sensor smooths out jitters and increases precision and has a resolution that is adjustable between 200 to 10 000 dpi and offers six customizable settings so you can configure them to your style of gameplay. Whether you’re on a killer rampage or setting up for that headshot you can quickly switch between them on the fly with the dedicated dpi buttons below the scroll wheel.
You get 8 programmable buttons which are great for setting up quick access to specific functions, so you don’t waste valuable time on complex keystrokes or button combinations that slow you down. And I like how most used keys are right by my fingertips without having to move my hand off the mouse when I’m in the heat of battle. The comfortable ergonomic shape has a rubberized thumb rest textured scroll wheel for added comfort and all contribute to reducing fatigue without slowing you down.
The braided no kink cable is good and doesn’t fight with you while gaming, plus shields from EMI and increases flex life and mechanical strength. You also get 10 RGB lighting modes with 6 preset from the factory and 4 that you can customize which adds a little gamer style and is a nice bonus for a budget gaming mouse.
The RGB lighting along with the programmable buttons can be customized using the gm 21’s included software. The OnTarget Gaming GM21 gives gamers on a budget all the must-have gaming features and performance in a well-built lightweight and ergonomic gaming mouse at an affordable price.
The fourth product on our list is the Razer DeathAdder V2. This is our best wired first-person shooter mouse. Avid gamers won’t be surprised to see the Razer DeathAdder V2 on this list. It’s got one of the fastest gaming mouse switches and it features the same focus plus 20k sensor used on razer’s premium viper ultimate gaming mouse. At around 60 it gives you awesome speed and accuracy for first person shooter games at a fraction of the cost of the higher ended models.
If you like low profile mice the ergonomic design of the DeathAdder V2 will feel incredibly comfortable regardless of your grip preference since it’s nicely sized to fit a variety of different hand sizes. With its ultra-lightweight design at under three ounces, you’ll have swifter and more controlled swipes, so you’ll be able to keep up with your reactions in game. I find the two buttons right below the scroll wheel are perfect for easily switching of dpi settings on the fly.
I can jump from a higher setting for more fast paced movements then quickly switch to a lower setting for accuracy when I’m in sniper mode. There are 8 customizable buttons that are well positioned on the mouse that gives you quick access without wasting time and movement. The scroll wheel seems smoother than previous iterations and the buttons feel more durable but are still a little flimsy feeling.
Using it for actual gameplay is excellent. The 20k dpi optical sensor uses light beam-based actuation so your button presses register almost instantaneously and auto calibrates across different surfaces and reduces cursor drift from liftoff and landing giving you extra precision and the 100 PTFE mouse feet keep your mouse movements really smooth.
The Razer DeathAdder is no stranger to the gaming arena and the death adder v2 continues its reign as one of the best wired gaming mouse for shooters with its focus plus 20k dpi optical sensor for fast and accurate gameplay making it a go-to option for gamers looking to rack up their kill count.
The third product on our list is the Glorious Model O. This is our lightest first-person shooter mouse. For fans of lightweight gaming the glorious model o is one of the lightest gaming mice around. Its honeycombed ultra-light design even manages to have RGB lighting and some premium features while keeping it just 2.4 ounces.
It’s affordably priced around 65 and comes with the six standard buttons which are all programmable including the dpi button. The design isn’t optimal for MMO games but for first person shooter gaming when you need quick clicking hack and slash the model o’s design and Pixar 3360 optical sensor along with pixel perfect tracking with variable pulling rates up to 1 000 hertz perfect tracking zero mouse acceleration and less than 0.7 millimeter lift off distance brings you to competitive Esport standards for elite gamers.
The ambidextrous design is really comfortable and can be used with any grip style. However, gamers with smaller hands may not find it optimal so you’d be happy to know that glorious also offers a Model O minus for smaller hands with the same specs. The Glorious O also comes in black or white along with the option of a gloss version. While most manufacturers stop at the mouse, I like that glorious also optimizes the cable. The braided ascend cable is extremely light and really flexible so it almost plays like a wireless. it’s easy to forget it’s there since I don’t have to fight the cable while gaming.
Plus, the g-skate’s feet are extremely smooth, so you never hit a snag. The Omron switches are optimized for intense button mashing for hack and slash style games making the glorious one of the better mice for butterfly clicking.
Although the RGB lighting is a bit limiting as is the software it can’t be denied that the glorious Model O is one of the lightest gaming mice around making it ideal for gamers looking for an affordable esports grade gaming mouse with excellent performance and a wide cpi range in an ultra-lightweight design.
The second product on our list is the Logitech GPro X Superlight. This is our best ultra-light first-person shooter mouse. If you’re not a fan of the honeycomb design of the glorious o or want an ultra-lightweight wireless mouse the Logitech GPro X Superlight is just that wireless and super light. At just 2.2 ounces you get almost a frictionless glide giving smooth swipes that mimic your movements in battle.
Add in the exclusive hero 25k sensor and incredible battery performance and you’ve got an impressive wireless gaming mouse for shooters at around 150. The GPro X Superlight falls under the don’t judge a book by its cover as a gaming mouse. The design may be on the simpler side with a symmetrical black plastic chassis and does without the traditional textured grips and there’s no RGB lighting.
But the gaming performance is top notch with unrivaled precision, speed and delivers extreme accuracy with ultra-fine control with its hero 25k sensor. I really like the performance consistency, no acceleration, it doesn’t stutter and there’s no lag especially when it comes to intense split-second moments in shooter games.
It’s hard to believe how light this mouse is, especially for a gaming mouse that doesn’t use the honeycomb design like the previous glorious O. You get a really smooth and fluid glide and Logitech’s large zero additive PTFE feat that keeps you connected to your actions in-game. You can use Logitech’s g-hub software to adjust dpi sensitivity, reassign buttons and create profiles for individual games and apps.
Battery performance is incredible. You can expect to get up to 70 hours on a single charge. And what’s great is that unlike many wireless gaming mics the g pro x super light can still be used wired while being charged via a micro-USB cable with no downtime. The Logitech GPro X Superlight is a pro wireless gaming mouse offering precision and efficient gameplays with its hero 25k sensor and pro grade wireless Logitech light speed technology. And if you like your mice light weight the super light only weighs just 2.2 ounces.
The first product on our list is the Razer Viper Ultimate Wireless. This is our best overall first-person shooter mouse. The Razer DeathAdder V2 may be one of the best wired gaming mice but if you’re looking for wireless freedom then Razer also has you covered. The viper ultimate wireless is built for speed with extreme low latency and interference reduction for true wireless freedom for around 140.
It’s extremely lightweight just weighing marginally heavier than the Logitech G Pro X Superlight. But considering you’re getting a full shell wireless with textured sides it’s still one of the lightest around without using cutouts or build quality compromises. The ergonomic design is ideal for gamers preferring palm and fingertip grips. Plus, the viper ultimate wireless’s eight fully remappable buttons across the mouse will appeal to lefties as well with its ambidextrous design.
It’s extremely comfortable and it’s lightweight lets you game long into the night without adding to any hand fatigue. Like the DeathAdder V2, Razer’s focus plus optical sensor provides up to 20k dpi 650 IPS tracking speed and an impressive 99.6 resolution accuracy.
And similar to Logitech’s Lightwave Razer’s hyperspeed wireless technology combined with its optical switches gives you high-speed transmissions, so your swipes and clicks register instantly and combine extreme low latency with interference reduction. It performs flawlessly with no dropped signals, laggy commands or delayed clicks.
The battery performance is also on par with the Logitech G Pro X Superlight with up to 70 hours. But the benefit of the viper is the RGB lighting which looks great but will knock down the battery performance to about 50 hours which is still incredible.
Now the big added value here is that you get a stunning chroma RGB charging dock included as well for the price. The Razer Viper Ultimate Wireless features hyper speed wireless technology focus plus 20k optical sensor and optical mouse switch in an extremely lightweight and ambidextrous design for gamers looking to stay competitive in first person shooter games.
