Coming in at a tidy 180 dollars the compact design of the Braava Jet 240 measures 6.7 by 7 by 3.3 inches, a great choice for cleaning up small spaces.
Its compact size allows it to clean corners and even under kitchen cabinets getting into hard-to-reach nooks with ease. One feature of the Brava Jet 240 that I think makes it versatile is that it will read the type of cleaning pad that is inserted and will automatically clean using the appropriate mode.
There are three types of pads that the Brava Jet 240 uses. A dry sweeping pad, a damp sweeping pad and a wet mopping pad, which all come in disposable and washable options which is great for those who prefer to reuse cleaning pads more than once.
It gently scrubs floors with the mop’s vibrating cleaning head to get out dirt and stains. The Braava Jet 240 excels in doing light cleans around the house, picking up dirt, and giving the floors a quick wash. However, it does struggle with heavier floor stains but if you’re looking for a robot mop to help you keep your cleaning routine less frequent it’ll do the job.
You can set boundaries of the area you want to be cleaned and it does a good job of keeping within the boundary but it’s worth mentioning that the boundary resets after each cleaning. Cleanup is pretty quick and easy. You can eject and discard the bravo jet cleaning pads at the push of a button without ever having to touch grime or grit.
The iRobot Braava Jet 240 is a solid budget option that’s ideal for small spaces or light cleans whether you live in an apartment or want some help keeping your kitchen floors clean.
The fourth product on our list is the iLife Shinebot W400S. This is a great robot mop for the money. If you want a robot mop that’s great value for your money for around 230 dollars the iLife Shinebot W400S has got you covered.
It may be more expensive than the Braava Jet 240 but it comes with a microfiber cleaning brush roll that only needs to be replaced every three to five months unlike the bravo’s cleaning pads saving you money in the long run.
The Shinebot W400S measures 11.5 by 11.1 by 4.6 inches, not short enough to clean under kitchen counters though with the extra size it houses two water containers for both clean and dirty water. It also weighs 7.72 pounds which some might find heavy but what’s inside packs a punch.
The shine bot can clean in four cleaning modes: area, path, spot, and edge. You can cycle through these options with the mode button and a remote is included to control the bot. The clean water tank is transparent making refilling it easy. The docking station allows the bot to charge and protects your floors underneath it while it’s docked but keep in mind that you’ll have to dock it and undock it yourself. There isn’t a navigation feature to let the Shinebot find its home.
The robot mop only uses water to clean and does a good job overall. Even if it sometimes goes over spots more thoroughly than necessary and leaves the floor slightly wet after it. The main drawback is that the robot itself needs to be cleaned after each use. This includes cleaning the dirty water tank, the microfiber Brushroll, the scraper and the filter with running water and then needing to let them air dry.
Ultimately, the iLife Shinebot W400S requires some give and take needing some help with cleaning and docking but still offering an all-around thorough cleaning for the money with minimal need to replace any pads or brushes.
The third product on our list is the BISSELL SpinWave Wet & Dry. This is our best floor scrubber robot mop and vacuum combo. If you’re looking for more flexibility for your cleaning needs, I think the BISSELL SpinWave Wet & Dry robotic vacuum is an excellent option for around 300 that can do more around the house with its combination of dual mop scrubber and vacuum functions.
The circular design measures 12.25 inches in diameter and 3.25 inches tall and as a vacuum it reliably sucks up dirt and debris from both carpeting and hard floors making it useful in any room. If you need it for mopping the BISSELL SpinWave will automatically detect and avoid carpeting only cleaning the floors.
It gets the job done using two spinning microfiber pads and can be used with several different cleaning solutions allowing more flexibility to fit your needs. Whether you need a multi-surface clean sanitizing formula or a pet multi-surface clean with Febreze, Bissell makes a variety of different solutions you can use when mopping.
The mop pads are attached to a wet tank that’s easy to use with any cleaning solution or just plain water and there’s a separate dry tank that can be attached to when vacuuming. Bissell includes edge cleaning brushes along with other extras in the box like an extra set of reusable mop pads and an 8-ounce bottle of a multi-surface floor cleaner for a thorough clean.
Although the Bissell spin wave works well as a vacuum for light cleaning needs. Its strength is as a mop with two spinning mop pads that pick-up dirt and grime in one cleaning. The bonus here is that even as it gives your floors a wet clean the spin wave will also sweep collecting dry debris as it washes the floors and when its battery is running low it’ll return back to the base for recharging.
With the flexibility of both a vacuum and a mop the Bissell spin wave wet and dry is a great choice. With its rotating mop pads that scrub and clean it provides a more thorough cleaning job.
The second product on our list is the iRobot Braava Jet M6. This is our best overall robot mop. If you want a solid cleaning experience paired with great mapping capabilities look no further than the iRobot Braava Jet M6 at a price point of around 400 this robot mob can handle both your dry sweeping and wet mopping needs while not requiring constant supervision around carpets or furniture.
The Brava Jet M6 is 10.6 inches square and comes with two disposable dry cleaning pads two disposable wet cleaning pads one reusable wet cleaning pad and a small bottle of iRobot brand hard floor cleaning solution.
Now some may prefer reusable ones since they’re easy to machine wash plus they also feel sturdier and pick up more dirt during a clean. A noticeable quality of life difference between iRobot’s Brava jet m6 model and their jet 240 is that the Braava jet m6 has a removable water tank for easier filling.
In addition, the tank has a flat bottom meaning you don’t have to worry about it tipping while you add water or cleaning solution which I think is a more practical design. The iRobot home app is quite comprehensive and versatile in its functions including letting you create favorite cleaning routines for specific areas of your home.
The area mapping includes keep out zones if you prefer the bot not to clean specific areas as well as clean zones for going over areas that get more use. The clean zones you assign don’t have to be entire rooms, they can be more specific areas of a room like around the couch or in front of the fridge and the Braava Jet M6 does a great job at keeping those spots clean.
I think the cleaning power of the Braava Jet M6 along with the larger water tank size makes it the best robot mop you can get especially with great features like precision jet, spray, smart mapping works with Alexa and recharge and resume functionality.
